In Life

My name is Alexey Gerasimovich.
I was born in 1977 in the USSR, in the city of Minsk, now the capital of the Republic of Belarus.
In 1998, I unexpectedly ventured into writing stories, and that’s when the pseudonym Vladimir Knari was born. I used this name to sign my articles, stories, and translations. That part of my life can be found on the website http://knari.aha.ru (Russian language).
For several years, I published digests on that site covering all the latest book releases in the science fiction genre. These digests were titled “The Notes of Glitch the Hamster,” named after a pet I had at the time. The hamster has long since passed on to a better world, the digests are also a thing of the past, but the name stuck and became the title of my personal blog.
In 2020, I compiled the best of my stories and published them as a book titled “Graphomaniacs Don’t Cry“ (in Russian only).
Professional Career
During my school years, I actively (and quite successfully) participated in various computer science competitions, which significantly influenced my future.
I began professional programming back in 1992, while still in school. I graduated from Belarusian State University with a degree in Mathematics and System Programming (Computer Science).
From 2009 until October 2020 (almost 12 years!), I worked at Wargaming.net and dedicated many years to developing computer games. Currently, I hold the position of Chief Production Officer (CPO) at Eschatology Entertainment and also provide consulting services in management and production processes.
My professional career is detailed on LinkedIn.

About the Blog
This blog is my personal space. Here, I share my thoughts on books I’ve read, observations from life, and anything else that I find interesting. However, the blog represents only half of my persona. I write fairly substantial articles and reviews here, but for shorter, and let’s be honest, less serious content, I post on my channel and Facebook. Since this is like the other half of my persona, I highly recommend following me there as well if you know Russian (as this part is mostly for Russian-speaking friends): Telegram channel knari_whine.
